Gelish® PolyGel® - Prepare Your Brush for First Use



Ready to rock your first PolyGel® application? Make sure you prepare your brush for its first go!

All new PolyGel® brushes come with starch to keep the bristles together. Break apart and remove the starch before dipping the bristles into a mixture of PolyGel® Nail Liquid Slip Solution and Gelish Synthetic Brush Restorer.

Use a 1:1 ratio and combine in PolyGel® Glass Dappen Dish.


Gelish® PolyGel® - Natural Overlay Application



For clients satisfied with their nail length, PolyGel® can be used directly on the natural nail for a lovely lightweight enhancement!

  • Prepare natural nails for perfect product adhesion by following the correct prep! Begin by lightly buffing the surface of the nail and cleansing the nail bed with a Professional Anti-Bacterial Spray and lint-free wipe.
  • Remove any dust and oil from the surface of the nail using Gelish Nail Surface Cleanse.
  • Next, apply Harmony Gelish pH Bond Nail Prep Liquid followed by Harmony Gelish Foundation Base Coat and cure for 5 seconds.
  • With a dry gel brush, wipe and remove the tacky layer from nails.
  • Dispense a small amount of PolyGel® Nail Liquid Slip Solution into PolyGel® Glass Dappen Dish. Using the PolyGel® Slice & Shape Tool, apply a pea-sized amount of Gelish PolyGel® Light Pink.
  • Use your brush along with the slip solution to smooth and shape over the nail surface.
  • Remove excess product from the free edge and cure for 60 seconds.

Gelish® PolyGel® - Application With Tip



Did you know PolyGel® can be applied over clear tips? 

  • Select the size of nail tip suitable for your client's nails. Pre-blend the tip, glue on, trim, blend & buff.
  • Next, clean the nail surface with Gelish Nail Surface Cleanse and apply Harmony Gelish pH Bond Nail Prep Liquid followed by Harmony Gelish Foundation Base Coat and cure for 5 seconds.
  • Use a dry brush to remove the tacky layer from the nail surface. Using the PolyGel® Slice & Shape Tool, apply a pea-sized amount of Gelish PolyGel® Cover Pink. Use your brush along with the slip solution to smooth and shape over the nail surface.
  • Remove excess product from the free edge and cure for 60 seconds.

Gelish® PolyGel® - Form Application



Need to create a little extra length on your client's free edge? PolyGel® can be used with nail forms!

  • Begin by cleansing with Gelish Nail Surface Cleanse. After the natural nail is prepped, apply the form and follow with Harmony Gelish pH Bond Nail Prep Liquid.
  • Then apply a thin coat of Harmony Gelish Foundation Base Coat and cure for 5 seconds.
  • Next, using the PolyGel® Slice & Shape Tool, slice off and apply a pea-sized amount of Gelish PolyGel® Natural Clear and cure for 60 seconds.
  • Apply a second layer of PolyGel® Natural Clear, focusing on building the apex of the nail. Cure for 60 seconds then remove the form.
  • Apply a final layer of Natural Clear and cure for 60 seconds.
  • Finish by cleaning and shaping the nail.
